New Line have announced The New World DVD will be released on May 30th. Mention was made of a directors cut - but no details have been released as yet. We'll keep you posted.

Touchstone Pictures announced the release date for The Prestige, as October 20, 2006. Looking forward to seeing another Nolan and Bale collaboration!

Although there are sites showing a March 31 release date for Rescue Dawn there are an equal number showing it as not yet known. Variety reported a number of international distribution agreements were reached for the film at the European Film Market you can check out the countries and distributors here

The worst preview site - that actually do really good previews - ah the irony - have a preview for Rescue Dawn up and finally I found a blog entry by an extra on Rescue Dawn on google. Herzog sounds like a great man!

Harsh Times will be shown at the Bradford Film Festival on March 17th. You can get ticketing info etc etc from the film festival site. This movie has had great reviews since it premiered at the Toronto
International Film Festival last September and was shown at the Dublin Film
Festival last month. I am really keen to see it, it's enough to make me wish I lived in Bradford...actually a million dollars and a loaded gun couldn't make me want to live in Bradford... but I do wish I could see the film! So what's happening with Harsh Times? Most sites are reporting it as having a US limited release scheduled for April 28th. However, there have been 5 stills, no one sheet and no trailer. There doesn't seem to be an official website as yet. The marketing seems a little .... subtle.

Pathe UK are handling distribution of Harsh Times in the UK and perhaps Europe(?) They have a release date of August 11th and a very limited amount of info about the film in the coming soon section of their site. Keeping an eye on their website is probably not a bad idea as while they don't yet have a trailer they have mentioned one is coming - this is encouraging!

C21Media ran a story last week about how MGM is building a distribution arm and suggesting that Harsh Times is a strong contender to be the first movie this new organisation will distribute. Click here to read the article. They do still suggest we are talking a US spring-time release. We'll keep you posted if we hear of a change to the release date or if we see some sign of life on the promotional front.
